Project Manager

Project Manager – National Independent Schools Alliance – NISA Education
Job Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful
execution of the National Independent 100 Model Schools Project. The role requires a highly
motivated and skilled leader who can effectively manage teams, monitor project progress,
ensure timely delivery, and coordinate with various stakeholders to meet the project’s
objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all project activities.
- Set clear goals and objectives, aligning the project with the overall vision of the 100 Model Schools initiative.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the project meets its goals on time and within budget.
- Track project progress and generate reports to provide regular updates to the
senior leadership team.
2. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and support a cross-functional team, including program associates and other team members.
- Coordinate and manage internal teams to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines.
- Resolve conflicts and issues that may arise within the team or with external
stakeholders.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with stakeholders including government officials, educational institutions, partners, and vendors.
- Facilitate communication between the team and external partners to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Represent the project at meetings and public forums when needed.
4. Budget and Resource Management:
- Ensure the project stays within budget and resources are allocated effectively.
- Monitor project expenses and forecast resource requirements.
- Identify any potential risks to the budget or timeline and develop strategies to mitigate them.
5. Quality Control and Evaluation:
- Ensure the implementation of high-quality practices and outcomes in all aspects of the project.
- Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of project progress to ensure that objectives are being met.
- Propose and implement corrective actions if project deliverables are at risk of delay or underperformance.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit progress reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
- Keep detailed records of meetings, decisions, and project milestones.
- Maintain a project timeline and work closely with the team to ensure adherence to deadlines.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in project management practices and execution.
- Ensure that lessons learned are captured and shared across the team to improve future project delivery.
Key Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Education/Social Work/Public Policy/Sociology, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minium of 5 to 7 years of experience in project management, particularly in educational or large-scale national programs.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Hindi.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of the education sector and government policies related to school development.
• Experience in working with non-profits, educational institutions, or international organizations.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The candidate should be willing to undertake extensive travel as part of the job.
