RC Jain

RC Jain is the President of National Independent Schools Alliance. He also represents the Delhi State Public Schools Management Association.

Parth J Shah

Parth's research and advocacy work focus on the themes of economic freedom (law, liberty and livelihood campaign), choice and competition in education (fund students, not schools), property rights approach for the environment (terracotta vision of stewardship), and good governance (new public management and the duty to publish). He has published extensively in international and Indian journals, on various topics from currency regulation to education policy. Rohan Joshi

Rohan has a long experience of working in Education and Skill Development sectors with wide variety of organizations ranging from NGOs, Private companies to Government Departments. Rohan has led multiple large-scale projects in Education sector such a School Excellence Program of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Skill Development Cell of the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra.

Amit Kaushik

Amit currently leads the Education and Skills Development Practice at IPE Global (a multi-disciplinary consulting firm offering a range of integrated and innovative development advisory services to international governments and donors across the world). He was a civil servant with Government of India for over two decades, and was closely involved in the drafting of Right To Education Bill, 2005. Anupam Srivastava

Anupam is the founder member and partner of The Chambers of Law. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Having sharpened his legal skills under the guidance of the legal luminary, Pratap Kishan Jaitley in the High Court of Delhi, Anupam’s experience now spans over 20 glorious years in the practice of civil and corporate laws which is witnessed by a plethora of judgments, serving as judicial precedents across the High Courts of India. Anupam’s expertise transcends varied areas of civil and corporate practice to include Real Estate Laws, Commercial Transactions, Company Matters and Personal Laws. Anupam is an authority on laws related to corporate affairs, information technology, arbitration and conciliation. He is an expert on mortgages and legal financial profiling of debtors and has been providing guidance to the clients regarding the foreign investments in India.

Archana Mehendale

Archana is an independent researcher in the field of child rights, and undertakes theoretical and action-oriented studies in law and policy dimensions of education, child labour and problems of the girl child. She is also interested in building literature in the area of child rights and strengthening the available information, education and documentation in this area. At present, she consults with various organizations working with children and also undertakes independent studies on child rights issues.

Kulbhushan Sharma

Kulbhushan is currently the President of the Federation of Private Schools in Haryana. An educator himself, he set up and runs a successful private middle school in Ambala, and has fought a number of battles to protect and promote private schools in the state (many involved lathi charges, hunger strikes and other forms of protest). Known as one of the popular school leaders in Haryana, Kulbhushan has served in various roles including Member of the General Council of the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) in Haryana, and Member of the Haryana School Review Committee, where he was instrumental in helping the State formulate new rules and regulations for the schools, in the better interest of students.

Gurcharan Das

Gurcharan is an author, consultant and public intellectual, and writes regular columns for the Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar (and guest columns for The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Foreign Afairs, Time and Newsweek). His international bestseller, India Unbound, has been published in many countries and languages, and also been filmed by the BBC. He is currently a trustee with Centre for Civil Society. Dilip Thakore

Dilip is the Editor of Bangalore-based Education World: The Human Development Magazine, India's sole publication focusing exclusively on education news and analysis. The magazine has an estimated readership of ~10,00,000 every month. Through the country's first business magazines, Business World and Business India, Dilip played an influential role in the liberalisation and deregulation of India's socialist economy. A former Barrister-in-Law of Lincoln's Inn, London, Dilip began his career as a lawyer in the Bombay High Court. Seetha has been a journalist for over 30 years, working in mainstream newspapers like Times of India and Economic Times as well as business magazines like BusinessWorld and Business Today. Her writings have mostly focused on the political economy. She is the author of two business books - The Backroom Brigade: How a few intrepid entrepreneurs brought the world to India (on the BPO industry) and The Maruti Story (co-authored with RC Bhargava).

Mohd Anwar

Anwar is an experienced educator and for 27 years has successfully managed a large low cost private school serving poor communities in Hyderabad with excellent educational results. Five years ago, he co-founded Empathy Learning Systems private Limited, India's first branded chain of low cost private schools. The chain currently has 9 schools serving 4,000 children, and is set to expand to scale in the next few years. Anwar has been consistently active in advocacy on behalf of low cost private schools in India.

Gaurav Gogoi

Gaurav is a Member of Parliament from Kaliabor, Assam. Gaurav started working in the development sector in 2005 when he joined Delhi-based NGO, Pravah. He worked with NGOs at the grass root level for eight years and also travelled to the West Bank (Palestine) in 2010 for an education project and then to Cambodia for an assignment with children with cleft lips. In 2012 Gaurav started a Farm2Food Foundation, a non-profit that educates farmers about productive farming methods and creates linkages with the local communities. Shekhar Shah

Shekhar Shah is Director General of National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER). Prior to joining NCAER in 2011, he was the World Bank’s Regional Economic Adviser for South Asia based in New Delhi and Colombo, and earlier held various positions of increasing seniority at the Bank in Washington DC in a career spanning over two decades. He joined the Bank as Deputy Research Administrator in 1989. Dr. Shah earlier worked in the financial services industry in Washington D.C. in the 1980s. In 1984, he moved to India to become Ford Foundation’s Program Officer for International Economics and International Relations for South Asia.

Udit Raj

Dr Udit Raj is a Member of the Indian Parliament, social activist and a member of National Executive Board of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He served as the Deputy Commissioner, Joint Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of Income Tax at New Delhi, after getting selected to the prestigious Indian Revenue Services (IRS) in 1988.
