250 city schools to join protest in Delhi today

Mumbai: Over 250 city schools will participate in a protest meeting at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, organized by the National Alliance of School Association along with different state school federations on Wednesday.

The schools, under the umbrella of the Unaided Schools Forum, had on earlier occasions too complained about the various initiatives of the government that threaten the autonomy of private schools. In their letter to the prime minister, Narendra Modi and chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, the forum had pointed out that the government had issued conflicting resolutions on the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009.

"The government has imposed rules without hearing out the schools. We are going to raise our voice against the constant unfair practices against the said S C Kedia, honorary secretary of the forum.
