Workshop to discuss individual advocacy efforts by state leaders

13 – 14 Sept 2012 : The workshop discussed the individual advocacy efforts being organized by each state leader and concretized the brand for the alliance. Shantanu Gupta, Senior Coordinator for Advocacy for the School Choice Campaign said, “Centre for Civil Society presented the logo and launched the first phase of the website on day two. Members were very positive about the progress thus far and believe that the brand captures the essence of our struggle for equality and good education in India.” Parth Shah, Director CCS, congratulated NISA Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand chapters to organize state level workshops.

The two-day workshop had a host of speakers and presenters. A representative from Azim Premji Foundation came as a guest speaker to discuss assessment and accreditation in budget performing schools and explained their School Maturity Model (SMM). Members from Absolute Return for Kids (ARK), Jodogyan, Pearson and English Helper showcased various Maths, English and Science teaching tools to help students and teachers better understand complex concepts. Attendees from Avanti Foundation took the opportunity to tie up with NISA members to extend their services in training higher secondary education to underprivileged students for IIT entrance. AIETS presented the structured ways to implement CCE in schools. A representative from GMC Foundation also participated to present their latest report on budget private schools.
