13th, 14th June 2012 (YMCA, New Delhi)– A two day workshop to discuss school quality issues (Overview on first generation learners and their needs, Variables of Quality in delivering education, Effective Lesson Plans) lead by Ms. Preetha Gosh (Gen1Can) and future plan of NISA at national and State level

  • The first day had a training session on school improvement in which Ms. Pritha Ghosh, an eminent scholar in the field of education, addressed the school leaders on how they could improve their institutions in terms of learning outcomes for students with their limited finances. She particularly emphasized on first generation learners and activity based learning.
  • The second day saw a meeting of NISA where school leaders shared experiences of implementation of Right to Education (RTE) norms, such as there being associate schools in Punjab or the government funding uniforms and midday meals for economically weaker students in private schools in Uttarakhand.
