With the objective of improving quality of education for the large number of children who attend these budget private schools, Centre for Civil Society in partnership Friedrich Naumann Foundation would like to invite you to the NISA Annual School Leaders Summit (SLS) on 26th September 2013.
The summit aims to bring together 175 budget private school leaders to discuss challenges and existing gaps in the education system, and learn of existing opportunities and innovative practices in the education space to improve quality of schooling and student performance. The summit also aims to strengthen advocacy efforts for budget private schools with the government, amplifying the voice of these schools that currently face closure in the face of RTE norms for school recognition.
SLS will see representation from cross section of stakeholders such as investors, financial institutions, thought leaders, education service providers, principals of affordable school, proprietors and association heads.
The summit reflects a high-quality gathering of the best independent affordable schools in the country, with sharing of best practices in education and in the affordable school space from within India and outside.
- Barriers to the Choice of Education
Plenary discussion to explore parental choice in the education of their children and how these choices are being limited by government regulations – through closure of budget private schools due to the RTE norms. It aims to understand the gaps in the policy space which face a threat to these schools.
- Running of Great Low-Fee Private Schools
This session aims to showcase successful low fee private schools in order to highlight the best practices in running such schools and provide school owners with techniques and tools to improve the quality of schooling they impart. We have invited Mr Ajay Jain, Associate Director – School Ratings, Gray Matters Capital Foundation to discuss the research his organisation has done on this topic.
- School Leadership Training
This session aims to provide school leaders with high-quality programming, individualised coaching and leadership development opportunities in order to build, lead, and sustain outstanding schools. Mhd. Anwar, NISA member to share his insights and experiences in leadership training in the education space.
- School Financing Models
Recognising the financial challenges faced by school owners in running low fee private schools, this session aims to explore alternative models of school financing that are sustainable and lucrative. Mr Neeraj Sharma, CEO of the Indian School Finance Company will be the speaker for this session.
